we kinda are though. we’re right on the cusp of the playoffs and have a decent team that’s lacking top 6 depth, i would defer to guys like Debrusk who are younger and cheaper but Toffoli is a RH shot and we need that in a bad way. but i agree with you.

DeBrusk will end up costing too much unless they take Kane in return. I think we are pretenders at this point, haven’t played many top teams or even the pacific yet. Vegas and Edmonton will be tough, Anaheim looks better; I think it will be tough to make the playoffs.

I think your being reasonable, we also haven’t played Arizona Seattle or Vancouver yet though either. another scorer to pair with Hertl and Barabanov pushing Balcers to the 3rd line would help make us a lot stronger though.

That’s true we still haven’t played the bad teams either. I just see them beating the bottom teams and struggling with the top teams and staying in the middle just out of the wild card. I feel Gregor should continue to get looks, I’d prefer him over nieto or Cogliano

100% he has looked good! but i won’t play him on the 4th line! he’s a top 9 guy and i want a defensively stout 4th line we can use late in games and in defensive situations.
i almost want to move Weatherby to the 3rd line and run Cogliano Bonino Nieto for our 4th line.

It will be the same issue we are having with labanc now if they put Gregor on a defensive line. Won’t score when they expect him too and he’s really not a defensive guy. Likes to use that speed to create chances; has to be on a higher line for sure

I believe we could. you would pay a team like Arizona to take Koskinen or you could trade Turris as you have Ryan and McLeod who can fill the void there. If not you could add Allen to the deal and ship Koskinen and a first to the deal.
