I didn't watch Ceci prior to this year, but based on his play this year I don't understand the hate at all. He's been a reliable, solid 2RD all year so far. Turris, Perlini and Koekkoek meanwhile all deserve their spots here.

The hate has always been irrational. Keep in mind, once a player get a reputation it becomes very hard to shake it off. Hockey is probably the hardest sport to "understand"
When Guy Boucher became Sens coach in 2016-17, they reached the ECF and almost made the finals but that year, they started using Cody Ceci as a top shutdown D-man in the NHL, which has been bad for his career but made him make more money for a few years at the same time. He's not a shutdown D-man nor an offensive D-man; he's a 2-way #4-5
From 2016-17 to 2019-20 he was just not used properly. The Pens did it right last year and he was pretty good for them. The Oilers seem to do as well so far
