NO! Couture is our captain, he is our leader and he is having a resurgent season and is a big part of our early success.
no one wants his deal and sharks have zero interest trading him. so we are happy he is staying here

Maybe, I think there are a lot of things to factor here though, Couture is an excellent team leader and can still perform at a high level now. I would assume he is still a serviceable top 6 center for at least 2-3 of the following 5 years

This is an easy no. Few are more clutch than Logan in the playoffs. Shark forever.

Cooch has a point per game pace rn and is +9 - he is absolutely driving the bus for the Sharks in the absence of Timo, Karlsson and Labanc while playing with a rookie on his wing. He is untouchable.

Burns in 2nd in scoring right now for defenseman and still appears to be elite. Karlsson and Couture are far from "old and washed up"Couture is killing it in SJ this year. What a simpleton comment.

This isn't good in terms of the value being sent back to SJ or the content. I get Couture's contract is a bit nasty towards the last 2ish years but he still is playing like an $8M player and should fetch a close to the return of someone that good on a better contract. At least for now he should. A couple years down the road I can't guarantee anything. But he's still too good.

No from me. Couture is a Sharks I want to see retire with the team. He's been with us for a long time and he's come up with some clutch goals in times of need. I want him here when this team is firing on all cylinders with new young players, be it on the 1st line or 4th line.

The last year or 2 will be cringeworthy yes but the cap will also go up by then. It's not going to be make or break. He still plays at an elite level so his decline hasn't even begun unlike Weber and Price, "pal".
