Description

With Ville Husso now going on the non-roster covid protocol list and back to back games this week. Who gets the second of the back to back starts? Charlie Lindgren or Colten Ellis. I liked what I saw from Colten Ellis in preseason, but it's preseason so we will have to see but who knows it could be Lindgren as well. I'm interested in seeing how this works.

hofer has a good chance to be with the organization he's just not neccessarily ready yet. Colten Ellis has been really good, and Charlie Lindgren has some experience.

Hofer was called up he is 3-0-1 with a .936 and a 1.74 right now so he's hot, but I would have rather seen Colten Ellis.

Ellis was down at the ECHL and his first two starts weren't impressive, though they were just 2 starts. Hofer looks just as impressive to me long term.

problem with the ECHL team you can't be impressed when he has no defense playing in front of him. He's been left high and dry all the time. Basically like Marc-Andre Fleury has with chicago right now.

That is true, though great goalies find a way to fight through it. Yes they may have a GAA in the 3s but save percentage is still usually .900+. I've been impressed with Hofer from what I've seen and think he's earned the spot.
I am interested in watching Ellis get some AHL playing. It can only help his development

Even if he doesn't adjust immediately, he's still only 21. Most goalies aren't like Carter Hart that can come in and play well immediately. Even if he (or Hofer) adjust immediately,I'm not too worried.
