Pretty arrogant to tell a guy what he should make. How would you like him to say you should take 10-15-20% less than you think you're worth at your job. Maybe he thinks the caps going up drastically and doesn't want to feel underpaid 4 years from now. Or maybe after growing up in Az and St.Louis doesn't want to live in Ottawa.

But why would he do that? His brother got a bridge deal too, that family isn't stupid. Why sign 8x8 when you can sign 7x3 and then get 9.5x8 afterwards? It makes no sense from the players standpoint, they're leaving millions on the table when they'll be the most valuable in the prime of their careers.
