I don't hate you, but please teams can't go with just 6 Dmen. Holl is a dependable 20 minutes a RHD on a very modest contract. I would love Liljegren to be NHL good this season. There is going to plenty of ice time for the players you have on the Leafs blue line plus Holl, and I imagine even an 8th guy due to injuries.

I think Leaf fans are really critical of their players who are modestly paid, and think other team bottom enders are sooooo.....good.

i only made that trade because thats his value, if they end up playing liljegren more than holl he will want out, im not saying thats only what they could get for him, they could probably get two people that are just as good as dermott for holl, i just dont know players around the league to compare to a guy like dermott

That's a completely stupid comment made by people who don't understand defensive structures. The truth if you talk to guys who know about defensive structures and stats is that Muzzin's effectiveness drops when he plays with other top 4 guys and Holl's goes up. The problem is that guys like you assume the players from the bottom 2 lines are really good when they aren't. If you put a player with a defensive partner who is a total defensive liability, his stats will drop because of it no matter who they are.
Holl is an excellent Defensive defenceman who can move the puck, is excellent at getting the puck into the zone either on his stick or by passing it to others at the most opportune time, and puts pucks on net causing rebounds that often result in goals. He plays 20+ minutes a night, is excellent at getting players of the puck and creating turnovers, and moving play to the boards. Everything you want in a defensive defenceman. This insistence that the Leafs need to have garbage defensive structure is mind blowing. I don't know what people have against the Leafs being able to play a good defensive game but it's stupid.

Also the two players who had the best offensive potential together of all of their defenceman last year was Holl/Brodie by far. This is because you are putting an offensive Defenceman with defensive ability with a defensive Defenceman.

Not room for him on Edmonton's roster right now, especially to give a couple picks that include a 2nd. They're set to run Barrie-Bouchard-Ceci down the RHS with Russell as the extra that can play his off side if needed. Bouchard looks ready to take the next step, have to at least give him a shot to see what he can do.

Vancouver could potentially be a landing spot for RHD... read that Hamonic contemplating sitting out the season.

I recommend watching Leaf games.... Holl is a disaster, every night he makes at least 2-3 bone head moves. He makes me want Cody Ceci back to replace him.

He's this Leaf generation of Todd Gill. Above average puck mover, average defender, good size (though doesn't utilize it well enough) who makes mistakes or get out of position too often.

Gill was saved by Pat Burns, Holl is made to look better by Muzzin.
