Cap is the main issue for both sides.. cannot see TOR taking on extra cap at this point.

Cap will be the big problem for the Leafs. Between Kerfoot and Mikheyev they are moving 5 mil or so but they've still got to replace Mikheyev on the roster which takes a big bite out of that. It leaves them taking on about 1 mil of cap room that they just can't make happen.

I wouldn’t want the Pens to do that. Zucker should rebound and be fully healthy this season. And he’s a legit top 6 when completely healthy.

He’s had 15 goals and 30 points in 43 games with the Pens so far. And hasn’t been completely healthy or gotten hot to bring averages up to his career averages. The 15 goals in 43 games is him playing badly too. And he plays a 200 foot game and is feisty; he’ll throw a hit or two.

And he’s only signed till after next season. If the Pens really want to trade him, they should at the deadline. And retain 1.5-2M and trade at 3.5M-4M per. Then the Pens will only retain money left after the deadline for this season and next season.

That’s when he hold his most value in my opinion. He just needs to stay healthy.

Leafs need centres as much as the Pens do. Leafs can't trade a centre for a winger.

I also believe that Zucker could bounce back and should be able to do so. I personally do not see him suited to play on Malkin's wing and he is a better fit to play with Crosby or Carter moving forward.

I wouldn't go out of my way to trade Zucker but if there is a way to get multiple assets back (especially early on in the season where there are a few players out of the line up) then I'd be all for it.
