agreed, not to mention its completely out of touch with the reality of the team, if this was how management felt they wouldnt have bothered with any of the signings, losing KK doesnt change anything we arent a playoff team with him and probably arent without him either depending on who is brought in, if anyone, to replace him. If we are sellers at the TDL which may very well be the case, we have options move Chairot, Lecky, Perrault gather picks and focus on having a good draft, our most important pieces, outside of Price and Petry, still have a lot of year left in them and realistically figuring out where poehling is going to slot in and what his ceiling might be is going to be very valuable in the long run.
there is not any advantage to selling a bunch of players we just signed for late draft picks that will probably amount to nothing.

First rounders and second round picks are not late draft picks, and your team will get destroyed in the Atlantic there is not much chance that you will make the playoffs so tanking is the next best option. Now would be the right time to tank considering how deep the next two drafts will be.

Winnipeg has no need for Petry and would have no interest in getting stuck with his contract.

the only trade above that actually comes in at that price is petry, neither hoffman nor gallagher are bring in massive hauls like that, may be able to get someone to jump on hoffman at the TDL in two years when hes in the final year of his contract. And no theres no time for tanking, its not a development strategy, two teams that have had the most "success"tanking are buffalo and edmonton, and they both still find something lacking any real success, and in buffalo's case now have to do another full rebuild. Our first this year is most likely a lottery pick and the canes pick may be too, hold on those and add to top 15 prospects from this deep draft and keep moving forward.
