Boston declines. Not taking salary back in a Debrusk trade unless a C2 is coming back.

As an fellow oiler fan I don’t think that’s accurate. Yam came into the league on fire but cooled off drastically in his first “full” season. He is very undersized for nhl standards that will be factor for any gm looking at him. I like yam as I’m sure every oiler fan does but should bump the breaks on how valuable other teams may see him.

He's still a 40-50 point player. Debrusk has continuously slumped. Every Bruin fan thinks they are getting a 2C for him. But Debrusk is just the sweetner.

Idk if I’d use the word sweetner he would be a very significant part of any package deal. Part that needs to be considered when evaluating debrusk is when he went into his slump he got bumped down in the line up and had less opportunity to get out of it. Very different handling than oilers did with yam. While he was slumping he was given additional opportunity to snap out of it which unfortunately for us fans he didn’t and even more unfortunate for him going into contract negotiations. My guess debrusk ends up in Calgary for monahan

That would be an awful deal for Calgary. Regardless of Boston handling of his slump he's not worth a 2C. 2C have more value then a middle 6 winger.

I think that it’s an overpay for DeBrusk. However I also agree with the comment that Oilers fans way over value Yamamoto. The guy has only been really effective for 3 months right after his call up. He works hard, but so do washing machines. Need to score regularly to play in the top 6.

Regardless, I don’t think the Oilers need DeBrusk. All efforts should be on swapping Koskinen and something for a younger goalie with potential.

I hope Calgary trades Monahan for DeBrusk as that’s a bad trade for Calgary.
