I'm curious to hear what you think a fair EP to NYR trade would be if he were to be traded
My context is that number centers are the most valued asset in the NHL. A young number center who is already an all star and has had comparable first 2 seasons as the premier centers in the NHL (Mathews, Daraisaitl) would net a premier return. And he's only 22.
Trade packages for these types players usually involve a player, prospect and picks.
Since NY doesn't have a comparable asset, the next most valued asset would be a RHD. I don't think NY is trading Fox. Vancouver would need a good young RHD coming back.
Therefore, I believe a fair value package would be Kakko (LaFrenier would be preferred, but understand that reluctance there); the better of Lunkvist/Miller; first & third round round picks. The third round pick is because with Pettersson, NY's first round pick should be a late one.
