I don't believe Buffalo wants anything to do with Monahan anyways. Sure they could move him, but he is recovering from a surgery. There is risk in staking picks or prospects in turning him over. The Sabres want youth.

Tkachuk will not be a Flame as early as the start of the 2022-23 season. Twiggy (Treliving) will be forced to move him next fall or as late as the trade deadline in 2023, or face losing him for nothing on July 1, 2023.

Tkachuk is here to stay, all rumours of him requesting a trade or wanting out of Calgary have been proven false by every insider linked with the Flames
