I know bowman just gave jones 9.5 mil which is probably 1-1.5 too high but if he followed that up with giving Rielly 8.5 I think he'd be fired on the spot. Rielly's current 5 mil deal is more fair than giving him 8.5 mil.

Gaudette as our 3C is interesting. I have my doubts for sure as we've not seen much of him and from history his FO% hasn't been great, also from his time in Vancouver, his consistency wasn't great either. He has however conquered his health issues and put on weight. I will withhold judgement for now

I think this is the more realistic scenario. With Bowman I wouldn't rule out an extension after the fact but whatever team signs Rielly to a huge deal will regret it.

I think Strome+2nd or 3rd is probably a more realistic return with no extension in place.

With this lineup you magically saved 9m in cap by putting the untradable Connelly and Johnson on LTIR.

If you would read part 1 you would understand... In this scenario they would be traded. Johnson together with either Beaudin or a pick as a package to get his contract of the books as well as moving Connoly who only has one year left.

I agree with you, I don't think Gaudette is more then a 4th liner as of now until he proves differently

Maybe, seemed fair to me. I haven’t watched a ton of strome but based on what I see on here he doesn’t seem like a long term fit in Chicago and seems to be the odd man out. You’d know the value better than me tho. What would that deal look like in your opinion? Assuming of course both teams were in on a deal centering Reilly (no extension) and strome.

I don't think the Hawks would entertain Reilly at this point, although who knows. If it's for a 1 year rental, then Strome 1 for 1. If there is an extension for Reilly then Strome plus a 2nd. Strome is just 24 years old and a RFA. I get that he doesn't get a lot of love here, but reality and opinion here are often two different things. Strome is purely an offensive guy, very smart, sees the ice well, great passer setup guy, decent shot. His defense isn't good, his speed is below average, and faceoffs aren't great. Faceoffs he's getting better with and he's only 24, however, speed is not something that will improve much at this point. He's not terribly slow, but definitely below average.
