Not worth it for Eichel. I don’t think the Sens are too keen on having to pay a player that much money…

Money's for spending. Sens still got over 10M in cap space after this trade.

The franchise C is the hardest position to fill in hockey and 10M is a fair price to pay. You'll see when the Canucks sign Pettersson, franchise Cs aren't cheap or easy to find.

Zaitsev and White cost nearly as much as what Eichel is making and I much rather have Eichel.

I would rather keep him too but I'm willing to pay the price to get the piece we need.

If we can make the deal work with sending White and/or Zaitsev in it, i would do it

I'd prefer to have White included if they'd take him.

I think at this point the Sabres just want to maximize their return. They aren't anywhere near competing for a playoff spot at this point and losing games will help them get better draft picks and rebuild faster. Case and point is Reinhart getting traded within the division to Florida.

Eichel will probably not be trade until next years offseason if at all- and I know many think this is impossible but it's very possible even probable - Some might bring up the NTC but that only has leverage if the player wants to stay and the team wants to trade but maybe the Pegulas don't want to trade him at all, you can't be embarrassed by a low ball trade if you don't make a trade- have it on good authority Mr Pegula was steaming mad about the ROR trade one because the players coming back were crap but more that ROR helped St Louis win a cup.

I agree with the NTC and that Eichel would waive for almost any team at this point.

The problem with holding onto Eichel is that it doesn't address the underlying problem. Unless they let him get the surgery he won't get any better and could actually get permanent nerve damage.

It seems wrong that they are trying to force him to get a certain procedure done when the one Eichel wants isn't a bad one and in some cases has been shown to be better than the procedure the Sabres are advocating for. It's a really bad look for the club.

If I was the owner I'd just let my star player get the procedure that he wants then you wouldn't have this whole situation where he wants to be traded to another club. If you wanted to move him his value would be higher after the surgery as well.

I don't see eichel waiving for any team but he will for a lot of them, sens have a good future so i think he might here.
That being said i would hate to see the sens give away what they are building for eichel.
Both batherson and pinto will be studs

Love the donato pickup i think he is under rated and could play up and down the lineup, and is young enough to grow with the team

My guess is they will eventually let Eichel get the surgery he wants but they are going to have to figure out certain insurance and liability questions first - they are not going to be in a huge hurry because while they are not making the playoffs with or without Eichel, Eichel could throw off their total tank for 1st-3rd overall pick- as for permanent nerve damage, while Eichel really needs surgery to go back to the impacts of hockey it seems at this time he's not suffering from any nerve impingement of course that may change if he starts some type of more intense training.

Eichel has already been waiting close to a year to get the surgery. I think it's pretty obvious conservative management isn't working. I don't understand what the holdup with letting him get the surgery is. I don't they've taken any steps towards letting him get the procedure that he wants.

The hold up is probably insurance and liability issues - things that seem simple often aren't

Reports are that they are trying hard to pressure him into doing a different procedure. Hopefully that's not just for insurance and liability issues and they actually have his best interests at heart.
