Description
Take it or leave it. Some habs fan will think its too much and some Sabres/ARZ will think it's not enough anyway. It's just my personal take on both player. I would like to have them really bad on our roster but this is the maximum I would give for them after that it's just a no deal. So I guess this is my realistic take on both (this is not a plan to get both it's either one or the other)

* I will repost this in more appropriate hours for more feedback so if you see it again dont bother
* Please make constructive answers so we can argue about the post or then again.. dont bother
Transactions
1.
BUF
  1. Drouin, Jonathan
  2. Kotkaniemi, Jesperi [Droits de RFA]
  3. Romanov, Alexander
  4. Choix de 1e ronde en 2022 (MTL)
  5. Choix de 1e ronde en 2023 (MTL)
Détails additionnels:
Primeau could be add here if it's really the deal or no deal factor. In an ideal world he would be included only with either one of Romanov, KK or a 1st out of the deal. But I guess I could let him go even with all of that for freakin Jack Eichel.
2.
ARI
  1. Lehkonen, Artturi
  2. Poehling, Ryan [Droits de RFA]
Détails additionnels:
Lehkonen does not add much value here but for cap compliance and because he's a hell of a bottom 6 player, he still remain a good return piece

2022 1st
+ one of Ylonen, Strubble, Kidney, Kapanen or other prospects ARZ scouted and liked a lot
(Guhle, Harris and Norlinder are out of the equation unless it's again a deal or no deal situation but then something else would have to come back or be taken out (or reduce like a 2nd instead of a 1st in a ideal world)

I think Arizona would take the 2022 1st for Dvorak.

I don't think there's a deal to be made for Eichel for the assets the Habs would be willing to move.

As a Sabres fan, i don’t think I’d do it
To trade Eichel to you guys, the Leafs, or Boston- i would want a major overpayment
And while the 1sts are nice….
I just don’t love those prospects at all really

Can’t see u guys getting Eichel from us without including Caufield or Suzuki…. OR BOTH

I doubt Montreal gives up their 1st in 22 unless it is a very very special player coming back, not with the draft in Montreal.

I see this comment a lot, however Sabre fans have to realize that Eichel is injured and requires major career threatening surgery. There is no way any teams should be willing to give up what equates to 4 1st's plus or Mortgage the future for him. Buffalo is NOT going to win any Eichel trade, this and any other trade that includes Suzuki or Caufield is a win. Eichel is a 90-100 point player look at what the package includes. Drouin a 50 point player, KK a potential 50-70 point player, Romanov a top 4 Dman, and 2 1st round picks. The package replaces what Buffalo lost in Eichel both production wise and on the defensive side and then goes above and beyond that significantly. The sum of these parts is worth more than the whole (Eichel) when he is not injured factor in the injury and its a HUGE overpayment.

I’m plenty ok with keeping Eichel if no one will pay up

I honestly think Buffalo's best move is to let Eichel get the ADR and come back then trade him later in the year or at the deadline. The issue for Buffalo is that then they run the risk of Eichel never returning, but the reward for them may out weigh the risk.

That's fair enough but that's one of the options OP mentioned that I thought would get the deal done. Lots of teams have interest in Dvorak and I don't think Poehling gets it done.

At this point I think Drouin has more question marks than Eichel. What is going on that he didn't play any games in a historic cup run? It must be pretty serious.

As for KK I definitely don't see him as a 70 point player, I see that more as the ceiling for Suzuki. The most KK has gotten is 34 points in his rookie season and since then has seemed to have hit a plateau. Regardless I don't see him as being better than Cozens or Mittelstadt so his value to Buffalo would be as a 3C.

There are rumours of a suicide attempt or locking himself in his hotel room for days on end. There are rumours he has had mental health issues for years. He is also an avid supporter for mental health organizations.

There’s a very small chance that this is a career ending situation from what all the experts keep saying
I’m not worried about that at all

You’re exaggerating the severity of the situation

I didn't say that Eichel's own surgeon said that 70% NFL players who have received the ADR surgery have returned to the NFL. Listen to the podcast I posted above! Since there is no data for NHL players this is the most logical comparison.

I have listened to it
And the doctor clearly thinks it’ll be a successful surgery
In all he’s done, there’s been only a couple times it hasn’t worked out as planned

If u wanna overly worry about, that’s your choice
But I’m not worried at all

The doctor THINKS it will be successful but the stats he lists for NFL players who have had ADR in the neck are 70% return to the NFL. Since no one has had ADR in the neck in the NHL one can assume the same success rate as they are both high contact sports. Also congrats for you to not be worried about it but guess what the Sabres are worried about it as well, otherwise he would have already had the surgery and would be on the road to recovery. Therefore the risk out weighs the reward for anyone trading for Eichel right now. Hence the reason no one is willing to pay the asking price!

Cool, then we keep Eichel & I’ll be happy about having one of the 10 best players in the league on my team

We aren’t selling low, so get over it

I already said the best option for Buffalo was to keep Eichel let him have his ADR and recover then trade him so they get their asking price. The issue is 32 NHL GM's also agree that the surgery is too risky otherwise Buffalo would simply let Eichel have the surgery or one of the other GM's would give Buffalo their asking price and then let him get the ADR.

Idk, I don't wanna see CP31's prodigy CP30 leave Montreal in a game of Pin the Asset on the Trade Offer (hockey trade version of Pin the Tail on the Donkey).
