Paying another team in the Western Conference to take on Zack Kassian is a move I think would come back to haunt the Oilers. Why would anyone want to give that guy a reason to hate them, and put him in a position to extract his revenge several times a year?

Just cause they ask for a 1st doesn't mean you give it. They've been asking for the same price for 3 years now and haven't gotten it. You don't give up a 1st for a backup/1B goalie.

On the other hand, moving Koskinen back will also cost you some assets

I mean as a Leafs fan who wants McDavid in 5 years I'd say do it but you're betting on Georgiev having a breakthrough and improving significantly as he currently doesn't provide much of an upgrade over Koskinen.

If McDavid does leave how would you guys even have the cap space for him?
