If true, then I think his contract will be voided, and he may be banned from playing in the NHL, i dont see how they can continue to allow him to play on any NHL team or its affiliates.
So the KHL might be his only option, good luck paying off all those debts (not to mention lawyers fees) on those salaries.

I agree. The NHL has programs to help players with substance abuse problems but nothing for other addictions like gambling.
