Hey, that’s fair. IMO the 3rd line needs to be able to contribute scoring. You also can’t move him up to 2C should JT or AM get hurt. Checking line, yes. IMO that’s the 4th line, and he will face off against the top scoring line in our end. Regardless, we agree he’s going to be a defensive asset, and I think that link you shared was at least right about CHI making a mistake by not qualifying him. Hope I’m wrong and he surprises me TBH.
Agreed, the way this group is assembled currently is 4 super stars and league min players. I like Kerfoot a lot but not as 3C and if I had my way I’d like a different guy playing LW in the top six instead of him. But that’s what this group is, a top 6 and bottom 6.
Kampf on a checking line most likely with Mikheyev, possibly Joey Anderson if he has a good camp. Don’t see any scoring coming from them. But a good shutdown line.
Another line of Spezza Simmonds possibly Robertson to hopefully bring in some secondary scoring.
Again, for me, this is the worst group of fwds the Leafs have had. They legit need the rookies to step up and Bunting to perform really well.
The top 4, Dcore, and goaltending can carry this team, but it will be a dog fight to claim a playoff spot in the Atlantic.
Not to mention they need to figure out what the hell they are going to do with Rielly.
