Yeah... I'm starting to SERIOUSLY think the Toronto Maple Leafs should just FOLD this Friggen failed A$$ organization already.
Zboril + 2 2nds would be MONUMENTALLY CATOSTRAPHIC trade from the Toronto Maple Leaf's perspective.
Gryzzlez would be a replacement for M.Reilly which is what we'd require if I would EVER pull the trigger on dat trade... From the Leafs Perspective of things.
Well, ya, but then why does boston do it? Let’s just set aside the contract you have him signing in boston, because that thing is absurd.
The bruins are getting one year of Rielly. A guy that, frankly, seems to have been declining a bit. I’m not saying he’s on the decline or anything, but obviously the bruins have watched him the last couple years. They know how he’s been playing.
Then on the other hand, there’s Grzelcyk. He’s been really really good for boston. He’s definitely been asked to play too many minutes, but he’s handled them pretty well. Cost certainty for three years at a very reasonable cap hit through the prime years of his career. Knows the system. Fits the system. Just one for one, why would the bruins want to subtract him to add rielly? For one year it probably works out, but then they’re left with nothing. Add in two seconds and zboril and the trade is loony tunes.
What more could you really expect to get for Rielly though? He’s not lighting the world on fire. The conversation used to be was he a number 1 or a number 2. Now i think it’s kind of is he a top pair or second pair guy. I think a late first is likely fair value for him. Maybe with a kicker.
