This roster is a wash at best from last season which concerns me a lot

Id say it’s better. Lee is healthy, we have Palms for a whole year, Wahlstrom could develop big time playing next to Barzal, Reilly is an upgrade to Leddy and Golyshev is likely an upgrade to Komorav, and if he isn’t, there is plenty of other options at 3LW

My concern is just how much better is this roster from last season, especially when you consider how good the metro and atlantic are. There are 11 playoff teams for 8 spots, 1 of them will have a bad season. I just dont see this team going anywhere, a 2nd round exit probably.

We were a goal away from the SCF, this team is an improvement from last years (especially w a healthy Lee) and Trotz is our coach. We will not be missing the playoffs

Idk we came in 4th last year with a disasterous philly team and nyr having a bad season. Now nyr doesnt look like theyre gonna be really in the mix this year given their offseason hasnt been great so far. But i can completely see from the east being BOS, TBL, TOR, FLA, CAR, WSH, PIT, PHI. This team is built for playoff hockey but we might not get there. Also we wont go anywhere wo a better PP.

Honestly I think we’re better than PIT and Philly. Not super worried about them. The caps just keep getting older and at some point a lot of their players are going to drop off. Carolina has had a pretty awful offseason although they’ll still make the playoffs. I think putting Wahlstrom on the PP and adding Mike Rielly to it should help it enough. It sounds like you want the isles to add another piece on offense and while I agree, I just don’t see it happening considering the recent athletic article that just came out. Resigning our guys is the priority. Trust me when I tell you though I want nothing more for the isles than to add Vladimir Tarasenko to the roster

Fair I know we were anders away from winning the cup but I still feel like other teams are gonna find a way to get better and us putting out this roster (after the atrocious mid season runs we’ve had the last two seasons) concerns me a bit

I understand worrying ab a mid season collapse but I do think the roster I constructed here is much more balanced than any other roster we’ve had before with Trotz as our coach. I also think with top line minutes, Wahlstrom could be that sniper we desperately needed

I 100% agree, lou clearing all that cap space had me so freaking excited for a while, but I’m trying to come back down to earth 😅
