Yep that’s exactly what I was thinking. There’s no way this would happen unless another contract of 2 million + got moved. But I got stuck because there’s no one else to really move besides Matheson and I doubt anyone would take his contract.

That is the type of contract where you could definitely see Col passing on and him making it to UFA.

I don't see COL HELPING you take gabe though by taking ZAR from you (even if he would be a good fit there potentially, albeit not for that price)

Yea,it didn’t necessary have to be COL, I feel the price is near fair value tho maybe get rid of the 4th. He’s one of the best defensive forwards in the league and had a career high 9 goals this season after missing a lot of time. Would be a great fit for anyone’s fourth line.

I feel the same way with McCann, but TOR could go hard on him and if the right offer comes it would be smart to take it as it helps in expansion draft. Also if poulin doesn't pan out Freddy is always there as well. Matheson still has that bad contract but j think one team has to be intrested in him but idk which one

Do you think ZAR is gonna have that big of an AAV to prevent Landeskog from signing in COL? I thought he would only be around 1-2M AAV so Id take him for a 3rd + 4th, I dont think adding a small cap hit like that would affect Landeskog negotiations. I think ZAR would be great in a shutdown role in COL, put him with Nichushkin and Jost and he makes that line even better defensively or put him opposite LOC on the 4th line

He's a great fit for sure, but if the difference between what COL would give and what Pens would give Landeskog is what ZAR makes then the answer is yes. I also think ZAR gets over 2
