Teams were trying to acquire him last offseason , he's not a negative asset. Plays 20+ min a night and was on pace for 45 points this season. He's worth a 4th-6th rd pick.

Leddy doesn't have negative value, they'll essentially be giving him away for free

Chicago was in the same position as the Isles. Before the Duncan deal, they had a cap of $75M same as the isles. If we can get a spect and say a 3rd for Leddy, I'm all over that.

if he’s a negative asset, they won’t deal him before the expansion draft. stape said there “almost certainly” wouldn’t be an asset included in a leddy deal. he’s a UFA at the end of this season. any team that acquires him can probably get a decent pick at the deadline for him if they don’t want to keep him. i don’t think they’re looking for a massive return.

I'm very happy about the Duncan deal from the Isles standpoint. Now we definitely know we can move him and get something decent (picks, spects) in return without giving him away or adding someone to make the deal.

yeah if they get move leddy for a 5th rd pick, the team can trade him for a 2nd or 3rd rd pick with retrained salary before the deadline. Low risk high reward
