Description
Stamkos retires after back to back cups with “nagging injury” that has limited his games in the past few seasons. You could trade Johnson to Seattle but that would cost you a lot to get them to do you a favour so swallow the peak of $2m against the cap and buy him out. Fill out your roster as you like with the $7.4m in cap you have left and the ability Tampa has to sign players below market value

As much as I’d hate to see it happen, this would help the team in a major way and ensure his quality of life after hockey given all the major injuries. I love the guy, as he’s my favorite player and at this point I really wanna see him get to the HoF. Despite his critics, the dude literally has the 6th most points in the entire league since he debuted back in 08-09. Regardless of the injuries, I find it kinda sad to see how people have soured on him and wish him the best, regardless of what the rest of his career looks like.

They don’t have to lose Foote they can use a pick to make a deal to chose the desired player but that leads to way too much speculation to put on here

I think they go 4-4-1. Stamkos, Kuch, Point, Cirelli, Hedman, Serg, Cernak, Foote, Vasy. Then make a side deal to select on of Johnson, Palat, Killorn or Gourde prolly with a 1st. I feel like Seattle would avoid Mac’s contract simply cause of how long it is.

Lol. U have to protect players with NTC’s and NMC’s. Which all of those players u want to leave u protected have. Including McDonagh too. That’s the problem TB got into. Giving every player NTC’s and NMC’s.

Only NMC clauses have to be protected. Not NTC. Go look up the rules. Or use the Seattle expansion tool on this site. McDonagh has a NTC and so do the rest of the guys I mentioned. Why don’t you fact checking yourself before responding.

Calm down there killer. My mistake.

And it’s still a big problem for TB. Giving away all those NTC’s.

Let them take one of those players or Boulet then. Why give up a 1st. You could probably make that cap dump trade without Seattle if u still needed too.

I’ve got a feeling they’ll be moving two of Johnson, Gourde, Killorn and Palat. Killorn, Gourde and Palat aren’t cap dumps, just would be sold for less given the cap situation. The only guy they’d need to pay to move is Johnson in my opinion. ABB i think will be in a top 6 spot potentially taking Killorn or Palat’s spot on one of the top 2 lines.

For Tampa .. I am more concerned on losing Colton or ABB .. Colton is #1 young guy .. eventual top 6 but 3rd liner in 2021. ABB could be 1st line next year as his style fits with Point and Kuch. Joseph is role player and I am not huge fan of Foote so both of then could go but not Colton and ABB.

I think you’re overvaluing Colton based on him scoring the cup winner and his early season hot streak. I don’t think Colton breaks the top 6 consistently at any point, he’s a 4th liner with 3rd line potential but is young and cheap. Joseph has the higher ceiling imo and played very well in the final filling in for Killorn.
