no. if detroit is taking keith and his contract they would be the ones getting the 2nd. keith is done and a 5 million cap hit isn't worth giving up a 2nd round pick for a 38 year old on a team that isn't going to compete for the next 2 years

Not much, I might do Keith and Nielsen 1 for 1 but that's about it. But it's moot anyways as Keith wont waive for Detroit he wants to play close to home near Vancouver. I only see him either in Seattle or Edmonton. And it's looking more like Edmonton is out on Keith from what Friedman just reported i guess Stan wont retain on Keith and for what Ken Holland is offering for a no retention Keith it's not good enough for Stan.

To be fair though in this case, Lowry is also 10 or 20 times better than Nielsen. So, it wouldn't just be management's love for Lowry, it would be the smart thing to do!

Yzerman made it clear he wants to keep a young core and bring in guys in the 25 & Under range... You traded and signed guys over 30 here and gave up draft picks in some cases to get them. Makes 0 sense in what the Wings need to actually do. If I am Winnipeg, I laugh, HARD, like really really hard... Nielsen for Keith would be an interesting thought, but to your point it doesn't help either team and Keith would never waive to come to Detroit. Not many teams are dying for a 37 year old defenseman with 2 years left holding $5.5M a year.

100% agree with you what're saying, Keith wont waive for Detroit and even if he would doubt Yzerman has any interest in a 37 year old LD making $5.5 mil for another 2 years he's not going to help us one iota.
