It'd be insane, but doesn't it make more sense to just OS EP?

I don't think it's worth it to trade your entire future for a guy who's about to be the guinea pig for artificial disk surgery and doesn't really seem like all that great a guy... but that's just me.

Agreed.

I also don't get why you think Seattle would need an incentive to take Drouin, assuming he's declared fit. They'd snap him up in a second if he's exposed to the expansion draft. And if Drouin were not taken because he's on LTIR, it's a pretty good bet that Seattle will take Jake Allen.

THIS exactly this maybe you get one of those guys and a 1st but not much more seeing as he may never fully recover. Whoever trades for Eichel is taking one hell of a risk.

Finally someone on here that agrees with me that you won't need to pay to get rid of Drouin. He has more upside than anyother person exposed by the habs. I do think that they'd probably take Chiarot over Allen though. After the playoff performance. And I think there will be goalies available where the secondary option won't be as good as Chiarot

If you're the Habs, why not expose Weber? While there's a tiny chance Seattle would take him, that $7M cap hit and his general slowing down should likely make them look to someone else on the Habs list. Even Kulak is a safer bet for a team coming out of the blocks. My only fear would be that Seattle takes Weber and eats half of the cap hit and trades him back to Toronto.

100% they should expose Weber. No chance Seattle takes him and that way you get to keep the big 4. And if they did take him even better lol. I love Weber but his contract is going to be a big anchor going forward. Especially if he completely falls off a cliff.
