Description
his contract is up in two years. It's obvious he isn't the same after the shoulder injury. He can still probably get 20-25 goals in a full 82 season and 40-50 points in a full season. A team like the Oilers does make sense. They don't have a top line right winger to play with McDavid. Maybe playing with McDavid and or Draisaitl can cause a resurgent season. Kassian although on a poor contract does play a rough style that the Blues would probably like. They are probably going to let most of the remains pieces from the 2016 run where they could've made the final walk. I think Parayko will the the last player still on the blues from the 2016 run.

This team won’t be able compete in the west. That is a really poor return from EDM. Kassian is not needed. That $11m in space should be used to sign 2 top 6 forwards unless you think they should aim for a top 15 pick in 2022.

Ngl I'd rather see the Blues get absolutely nothing instead of that deal. The cap space would be better than paying 9.6m to a 4th liner and getting an 8th d-man. How bout VT for top-10 protected 2022 1st?

Seattle def taking Dunn if he isnt traded/protected.

Do you think his value has dropped this far? Obviously we have no idea what he would fetch on the trade market right now but it's interesting to see blues fans perspective on his value. With his deal only having 2 years left you would think he might have more value but obviously with his injuries there is just no telling how healthy or effective he can be throughout the course of a season.

In Rutherfords article he mentioned that the Blues might've been quietly shopping tarasenko recently without much interest. Now that the trade request has gone public, the Blues really don't have any leverage. Hard to really say what the return might be but its probably gonna be underwhelming. I still think they could get a pretty strong pick or two for him from a team with cap space. What scares me is if STL has to take an unwanted contract back... which seems to be the trend in the armchair section. Just get the cap space and a pick or two and move on.

Yeah you would think he might fetch a late 1st and a B level prospect or something like that in a trade. I do think they are going to have to take back some salary but I think they can get away with eating a contract that will be expiring after this season. Looking at this roster though this team looks a little underwhelming. Although there seems to be some money to play around with in free agency, this looks like it could be the start of a rebuild in St. Louis, or at least thats the route i would consider going if i were Armstrong.
