I agree that we will regret the Gally contract in the last year or two of it, however we should enjoy Gally for the next 4 years.
I don't think we need a top line LW if we convert Caufield from RW to LW.
Lines: 1- Caufield Suzuki Anderson
2- Toffoli KK Gally
3- Byron Evans Lehky
4- Armia Staal Perry
Lines 1 and 2 should work in theory the playmaker at C with the triggerman at LW and the net front presence at RW.
Line 3 as the "shut down" line would look better with Danault at C but Evans can be a poor mans Danault.
Line 4 is the typical "energy line" that creates chances from out working the opposition and causes general chaos.
If Kotkaniemi and Evans can step up next year we should be fine or else it will be a long season next year.
Drouin:
I don't know Drouin's situation therefore I can't begin to guess what will happen with him next year. That is why I don't make plans for him until the Habs or Drouin release what his situation will be next year. For now I omit him from my plans of the future, but if we can somehow dump his contract we could use that $5.5M to obtain a top 4 LD (if Seattle takes Chiarot) or resign Danault at 3C and move Evans to the 4C spot. If we can't move Drouin's contract I would use the above lines and send Drouin to Laval and treat him the same way we did with Alzner at least that way we can save $1M in cap space. If Drouin refuses to go to Laval we could then terminate his contract unless he claim's that he can't play due to mental health issues, in that case we could send Drouin to "Robidas Island" and place him on LTIR and use his $5.5M to obtain another player (preferably resign Danault at $5.5M). We can't resign Suzuki next year if we have both Drouin and Danault under contract and I would personally prefer Danault.
