Agreed it is tight. But thought is with 700,000 in cap space they can build up for the deadline. Leafs have been close to cap for a while and will need to. With Tampa going over or Vegas having to play with less players, I think regular season cap space is not as important.

Agreed. But the leafs went into this season with that possibility as well. I am willing to risk playing 2-5 games in the regular season with a forward or D missing if it means a strong team in the playoffs.
Though with it being the leafs one of the new players will probably get injured right away.
