I don't like that Canes trade from the Canes' point of view. I would rather have Geekie and Foegele over Archibald and Khaira.

How much is Khaira likely to make in RFA? Because the only positive in this trade could be a lower cap hit, but if he is going to make 2 million+ it's not even less cap.

Agree with baddeals. Would rather have the cap space for Foegele and picks in return and keep Geekie.

No, Khaira would come in under $1.5 million, closer to 1.4...

Yes, a lower Cap hit is why the Canes are looking to move Foegele. If you have Archie on your team you will become a huge fan, he is a human spark plug.

There are going to be a few deals like this, this offseason that no fan is going to like.

That Rangers trade it terrible. They’re giving up the two most valuable assets in Blackwell and the 3rd for dead cap

I have no idea what Yzerman is going to do with Svechnikov, but Marody is an AHL player. So you'd want to contact the Grand Rapids Griffins about moving Marody.

Ridiculous.

Bear would be the best Right Shot Dman on the roster. He carries a lot of value.

What does it mean if Marody is the top AHL goal scorer, coming off a lost season due to post conclusion issues. In his first season he killed ii, which is no small feat for most NCAA players.

He is only a career AHLer if he gets no opportunity. As a right shot scorer, Yzerman should be interested.

Seems like Marody isn't in the plans in E-town. Both players need a fresh start, but don't mistake Marody for a player that has zero value. I remember all the DRW fans scoffing at trade proposals on here that sent Gagner to Motown, seems like he has a bit of value to Wings fans on here now.

The point is, don't discount any player if you know nothing about them. Svechnikov didn't get claimed while on waivers this season, so his value is pretty low across the league, but his drafting GM will have time for "his guy". Marody is a proven scorer at the AHL level, the same cannot be said for ES.

Most Oilers fans would say the same thing about Tarasenko and this deal. Yamamoto is a huge fan favourite and Koskinen is a decent backup.

The Oilers would be taking a big gamble with this sort of deal, the Blues, not so much. There is a reason they are looking at moving him and when they do, be prepared to be underwhelmed.

Did you watch any of the games Svechnikov played with the Wings this season?

Geno was waived because there were no open roster spots for him. This coming season there is. He scored at a 31-point pace this season with limited icetime, there is no reason to think he won't improve on that with regular play.

Marody has never scored a single point in the NHL and he has injury problems that make his future even more questionable than Geno's.

Svechnikov will very likely be kept and given a full season to prove himself.

First of all, report was they are open to a trade. That's not the same thing as "looking to move him" in my book.

And there's a massive gamble for the Blues here. Yamamoto is tiny as hell and regressed hard in his age 22 season despite riding shotgun with Drai most of the year. Kosko is not needed, a pure cap dump here. Safin is a throw-in that does have some tools, but he's already 22 and impressing no one. If the Blues take all that and Tank returns to normal service, it would be a friggin disaster. That's a major risk and a half.

I did not watch any Wings games. The storyline is that Gino did not get an opportunity, same as it ever was and always likely will be. Coaches have biases and it appears that Gino cannot overcome this.

Marody was concussed in a playoff game during his rookie year in the AHL. He was not the same player the following season. This past season he led the league in goal scoring, mostly 1 shot goals, which is the hardest thing to do (I watched all but 3 games of his). He has high end skill, but has average skating, no other injuries but what I mentioned.

Gino got his opportunities over the years and didn't capitalize and the GMs who acquired them no longer run the show. Both players appear to need fresh starts.

There is a greater risk that Tarasenko never returns to his old level, happens more often than not. Yamamoto is still an effective very young player even not scoring. He will get back on track, you cannot say the same for a player who turns 30 this season and has only played 27% of his teams games over the past 2 seasons. He is no longer a $7 ($9.5 actually) million player in the eyes of his GM and owners.

1- That's not how probability works.
2- Sure, but not scoring when playing with Drai is a bad look, if not a red flag.
3- Maybe.
4- That's not how probability works.
5- Again, nobody said they were wanting to trade him. You're going two steps past the actual second, if not third hand remark. Doing due dilligence is not the same as GTFOOH. And you've ignored the fact that the last year of his deal pays $5.5M in real dollars, meaning the average of the two seasons remains $7.5M - so it's not really $9.5M at all. And the Blues would be more concerned with the cap number than the real dollars anyway.
