Jury’s still out on his value but anything between a 3rd and a 5th is acceptable in my opinion. Nothing mind blowing, but he’s very steady as a shutdown guy if you give him a decent partner.

Ideally a solid, physical vet defenseman who doesn't stink. Let Jones play in the AHL this year and be the #1 callup option, sign Smith as your 7th dman.

Yeah similar to the Kulak trade. Only reason why I mentioned the "decent partner" think was because the last 2 seasons the Sharks have been playing him all over the place on both sides of the ice with the corpse of Marc-Edouard Vlasic and a bunch of AHL/NHL tweeners who aren't particularly good. Because of that he's been just okay. When he played with Burns all year in 2018-19 he was awesome as a physical shutdown defender before he got hurt. If the intention is to play him with Lundkvist on his strong side, he'll be rock solid I think.

As for the mentoring thing I don't really know though Simmer seems like a good teammate, but also kind of quiet.

But seriously what about kulikov. A solid 3rd pair shutdown LHD who will probably get 1.25-1.5 for 1-2 years so its not an issue capwise.

If it was me I'd call up the preditors and ask about ekholm, he's a vet and a really solid player who you can pair with lundvist, and he's Swedish. To me that all makes sense

Which is insane because Dunn has significantly more value than Zac Jones (right now at least). So that makes zero sense. Not to mention Blues have enough left defensemen as is so Jones is just a repeat.

Well, the most recent Dunn trades I saw that seemed to have support from both sides was him to DET for #22. I’d still be willing to talk about shipping our 1st but you’ll need more than a 4th to move up from 22 to 15.

I dont think it would take that much more. But worth noting the 4th wouldn't be this season as they no longer have their 4th round because of signing Scandella. Any interest in Sanford?
