Wild Bill Off-Season Moves

Créé par: Schmidty2go
Équipe: 2021-22 Wild du Minnesota
Date de création initiale: 28 juin 2021
Publié: 28 juin 2021
Mode - plafond salarial: Basique
Description
This plan is bold, makes the moves needed to be made. It keeps the young studs Rossi, Boldy, Beckman and Addison to start in Iowa and dominate. Any of those players could make their way up throughout the season. Plus it solves the expansion draft issues, your #1 center and gives you solid lines you can roll. Adding Hyman adds a ton of grit & skill to an already tough line-up.

If Hyman is 5.5M/yr at 29, why wouldn't the Wild rather keep Fiala at 6M/yr and 24?

This only happens if Carolina is confident in another player within the system taking over the 2C spot. They acquired him to fill that role, they probably aren't going to create that hole again by trading him away

Kuzy's issues are alot different than Eichel's issues. We don't have any problem with people who complain because they have a drive to win (see: Kevin Garnett). We do take issue with people who think their skill is enough and don't have to do anything else (see: Christian Laitner). Eichel will do well here.

" We do take issue with people who think their skill is enough and don't have to do anything else" interesting bc Lav benched Kuzy and he asked why.... Lav said you need to play defense. Kuzy putup his best defensive numbers in years while gaining ice time...

irony .... " We do take issue with people who think their skill is enough and don't have to do anything else" thats Eichel lol (mind blown)

It's a fair question, I think it comes down to consistency and trade value. Fiala isn't consistent, but his trade value it solid so you move him out to get Eichel. That was my thought anyway. And Hyman is of the same cloth as the GREEF line, which was one of the hardest to play against. Adding more players like that wear down those big teams like Vegas.

My question will be how Minnesota affords Eichel.
They will very likely need to move a big salary to make it happen and it’s going to cost them a first

It doesn’t help that Eichel was anointed the franchise savior, a future hall of famer, and gave him so much pull and influence in an organization. He was also annointed future captain the day he was drafted.

Because of this we tried to win quickly instead of building properly and it cost us long term. We even tried to pursue Steven Stamkos, but we ended up with Kyle Okposo 😂 the number two ufa that year

He disliked Dan Bylsma and he was canned. He was rumored to have some dislike for Ryan O’Reilly, and he was eventually ousted after his losing the love for the game comments and some fans in Buffalo even viewed ROR as a cancer. Eichel loved Ralph Kreuger, and i gaurentee it was at least a consideration as to why Kreuger stayed on longer than he should have. We even constantly brought in many of his former friends and BU teammates to the organization such as Evan Rodrigues, Jimmy Vesey, Brandon Hickey, and Danny O’Reagan

We signed Jeff Skinner to a ridiculous overpayment of a contract that will cripple the organization for years to keep Eichel happy.

Eichel also never came into a team where there is a good leadership core. He needs a change of scenery badly and Minnesota will be that for him. He will not get that special treatment in Minnesota, but I will promise you that the combination of Eichel and Kaprizov will be filthy, if Eichel is healthy of couse.

Elite number one centers of Eichels caliber rarely come free, that’s why even injured he still has high value. But if you do acquire a player like him, expect some of the disadvantages that come with a star player like keeping him happy. I don’t think that will be a problem in Minnesota as long as they win

Eichel should have been the "guy" in Buffalo but never was able to reach the level they expected from him. Eichel needs to go somewhere where he isnt "the guy" he lacks all leadership and if BG i wouldnt want to dump my future into a guy like him.

Dumba and Rask = 10M So the money shouldn't be an issue. We've got enough space to sign everyone else.

Dumba will return value. We shouldn't have to pay to move him.

Rask might need to be bought out (saves 1.5M), but I think we may pay for him to be selected by Seattle

It's possible I've got the wrong view on Eichel, but he seems driven from the outside.

Kuzy also had that drug issue in 2019.

Dumba and Rask will get you there but the team will need to re sign Fiala, Kaprizov, and JEE. With Parise on the roster that puts Minnesota very close to the cap with just 20 players and no depth

You still have to put a team around Eichel

You know Trochek is a really really good player, he could easily slot into the line up and they are instantly better. Half the price as eichel so you would be able to resign fiala easy enough. Even signing Hyman you could have a ready deep team instead of putting it all into eichel. Not to mention keeping your futures, I feel the team would actually be better.

Wild would need to trade both 1st Boldy and something else to get Eichel. imo i think moving Dumba + 2nd for Kuzy is way smarter. you get a 1c while also keeping all your youthful talent

That’s the way I see it happening too, Dumba can be flipped to a team for a higher draft pick and a young prospect
