Big Shake up to compete with the big guns

Créé par: NorthMan
Équipe: 2021-22 Flames de Calgary
Date de création initiale: 28 juin 2021
Publié: 28 juin 2021
Mode - plafond salarial: Basique
Description
-Keep Monahan if Canucks match (Hopefully use the cap space to sign a decent winger). If they match hopefully its funks their cap management.
-Bertuzzi trade may be a slight overpay
- All rests on Seattle taking Lucic so that trade might need to be sweetened.

I based the offer sheet on existing Armchair Canuck teams on this site. In most Pettersson is getting 7m x 3 or 7 x 5.

It’s a different story if anyone offer sheets him. Offer sheets don’t work. You could offer 15 million and the Canucks would probably match. These things just don’t work

likely 7 mill for 3 years but if someone offer sheets they are matching

Yeah doesn’t matter. Offer sheets don’t work and Canucks will match literally anything. These things just don’t work

LMAO Brett Ritchie played 1st line for us with Johnny and Mony. Give us a 1st rnd pick and a 1st rnd prospect for him. Yeah where they play in the lineup doesnt really mean ****. If anything that lowers his value because hes not even a 50pt player on a 1st line.

Except he was at damn near a point per game clip this season, before he got hurt. Hey, this is good for you, you think Bertuzzi is so bad, we'll keep him!

Depends on term. From the rumblings, $7.25 million for 3 years on a bridge most likely. The issue with going long term with Petey is there aren't good comparables. To go to 7/8 years the price probably goes to around $10 mil. VAN has the cap space either way. Obviously the higher you offer the less space we have, but why do that just to tick a GM off when there's no chance of getting the player (the Bergevin special I guess). If you really wanted to, someone like Cal Foote or Ross Colton from Tampa would actually be feasible to acquire.

Fair enough, I think we'll see a few teams try to take advantage of Tampa this off-season. And yeah I'd say there is definitely incentive for the Flames to offer sheet EP. Vancouver is their hated divisional rival after all, so the less cap space the better. (And you never know with Jim Dim, he might not match. Win/Win situation IMO)

Then if I was Treliving I'd stick it to Vancouver and offer something stupid to mangle their cap. You gotta sign Hughes too don't ya?

Bad players play on first lines all the time (not that I’m saying bertuzzi is bad) but Brett Ritchie played on Calgary’s top line, zack kassian played in the oilers top line, dominik Simon played on the pens top line and I’m sure there’s others just because a player played in the top lines doesn’t mean they have lots of value. Also dube played on the flames top line for like 20 games this year so it’s not like he’s a bottom six player.

Bertuzzi scores between 50-60 points in a full season. He also plays PP and PK and is great at blocking shots and playing defense.

Dubé will not perform at that level for another 2-3 years at least.

Detroit does not have a player to replace Bertuzzi with for another three years until Raymond or Berggren outperforms him.

Therefore Detroit cannot trade him unless they get a better player back that replaces him immediately or the deal is such an overpayment that it becomes impossible to say no.

Dubé does not replace Bertuzzi therefore the only other option for you is to overpay by so much that the deal cannot be refused.

This is not about "value". This is about Detroit needing what Bertuzzi brings.

First off 7 pts in 9 games is not point per game, second thats such a small sample size and its the beginning of the season. U are acting like 9 games is what the player is as opposed to the 200 games he played before that.

Detroit needs Shane Wright, and Dube is better than you think.

That makes sense, it seems like it’s a trade that is Terrible for both teams. Detroit’s can’t lose bertuzzi and Calgary has no need for bertuzzi. It’s a lose lose trade. However I think you maybe undervaluing dube a bit. Calgary does not need another left handed left winger they have gaudreau, mangiapane and tkachuk. That trade would be absolutely terrible for calgary though

Which was still back to back 45+pt seasons in arguably the hardest division in the league and on a weak team without a ton of support. Like I said, you want to **** on him, go ahead, we'll gladly keep him. Keep your pieces. Bye!

Dubé is a very good prospect but he's not good enough to replace Bertuzzi next season and Detroit simply cannot put the rebuild on hold until he becomes that good.

If you want to trade him for Fabbri or any other player of the same calibre I'd be happy to work out a deal with you.

VAN matches and says thank you. Even if they couldn’t match a team like CBJ would say match it and flip him to us we give 3 1st rd picks this year.

What’s the impetus for COL to do that trade? Monahan has struggled mightily the last 2 yrs and his production is similar to what they already have in Kadri and his cap number is higher. COL would rather have Lindholm.

Sorry that’s not the way to do things no point in pissing of other GMs. Not only will the Canucks hate you, the rest of the league will see you guys as rats. Canucks can sign Petey and Hughes easily even if that means saving little money to resign other players

This is such a myth. Does the rest of the league see Bergevin as a rat after the Aho offer sheet? And frankly I don't think the Flames organization cares if the Canucks hate them, because they probably already do seeing as we're divisional rivals and signed their goalie and top pairing D-man last summer. There is literally no reason not to send Petey an offer sheet. Stopping Vancouver from being able to sign other top 6 players or D-men is definitely in the Flames interest if theyre gonna be battling eachother for a playoff spot.

You make zero sense. I was talking about if the Canucks matched which IS the exact same story. You literally said Canucks will match anything. Go back and read it. If Flames can get Petey through this 8+ mil offer sheet, awesome. If not then Canucks pay more than is rumored (7mil x 3). WIN/WIN and we dont give two craps if Vancouver hate us.

My point is that offersheets don’t work and there’s no point trying. The player can also reject an offers sheet as well so really there’s is not point in giving an offer sheet in the first place.
