This is purely hypothetical signings, and Calgary was really just a placeholder team to trade too. I sorta agree with the Vegas trades, they were a bit far fetched, although it would improve the team.

Also, Hextall has publicly stated many times that the Pens are no longer moving their 1st or 2nd rounders.</div></div>
This is next season, where Pittsburgh will have the most cap space in the league

Butcher couldbe had for a 3rd, so why are we moving bellows and a 2nd????</div></div>
Wdym it’s the Lou style… If he traded a 1st and a 2nd for pageau, then a 1st and a 2nd for Tarasenko isn’t unrealistic

They are likely taking Dickinson or Mascherin, depending on where their need lies. Realistically the only way Seattle take Khudobin is if Dallas pays them to.
In all reality, Dallas is going to have to find a trade partner to take Khudobin (which they SHOULD be able to do), and if they can't then they will need to buy him out.</div></div>
Gm’s may still bite on the basic stats, bc a 2.54 and a .910 is still pretty good

What I’m concerned with is Chicago’s # of centre’s. We’ve got Dach, Strome, Toews, Reichel (although it looks like he’ll play wing in NA), Suter, Borgstrom. I don’t know if Strome has a place in chicago anymore, especially with his lacklustre season.

Winnipeg is desperate for a top 4 defensemen, they’d do alot to get one. Besides, it’s basically a rental, and they have like 20mil in cap this year.

Chicago has confirmed that they aren’t giving up too much of their future for Jones. Boqvist and Reichel are big parts of their future. Colorado is unlikely to target any big names this summer as they have Landeskog, Makar and Grubauer to sign.

Pens very simple offseason
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>LetsGoPens69</b></div><div>People are gonna be surprised.
Most all contending teams are up against the cap, and cash strapped. Very few teams have money to spend. Buyers market. Especially with this flat cap. Very few FA’s will get big money.
I guess we’ll see. But I don’t see him getting close to 4M.
He’s gonna get 2M-3M tops in my opinion. A 2 year contract at 2.5M. 5M total contract. I would say around there. Give or take.
Geno will probably be on the LTIR to start the season too. He had surgery this offseason.
The Pens will be able to do some cap circumvention with that. They could afford 2.5M probably.
Actually they definitely could and just have a 22 man roster instead of the 23 man I have. Well 2.25M if I would move that around.
Mrazek at 2.25M for 2 seasons. A 4.5M total contract. He would probably take that with the Pens. To go after a cup with Sid/Geno/Letang the next 2 seasons. His last contract was 3.1M per.</div></div>
Ah I see what you’re getting at. Mrazek did have two inconsistent seasons before this outstanding one, so a sorta prove it contract would be his next contract.

This is pretty good, only problem I have is with Mrazek’s contract. Guy had the best gsax/60 in the league, and is being paid 1.5 mil? I’d have him in the 3.5-4mil range.

Making the penguins a bonafide cup team
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>LetsGoPens69</b></div><div>And you keep Jarry.
Pens organization wants to trade for or sign a vet back-up-1B goalie. Not trade Jarry. Jarry was still a division winning goalie. Was 25-9 and an Allstar the year b4. Still just 26 years old on a good reasonable contract.
Keep Pettersson.
Trade DeSmith, a proven NHL backup on a cheap contract. To Toronto or Edmonton. Or Colorado. A lot of teams could use DeSmith.
Pick-up a vet FA goalie like Bernier, or Mike Smith, or J.Reimer or P.Mrazek for 1.5M-2.5M for 1 season to pair with Jarry.
Add a 3rd pairing RHD like Luke Schenn for 1 year at 1.2M, just like Ceci last season. Let Ceci walk, he’ll be too expensive. He’s not worth it.
Blueger signs for 2M-2.25M for 2-3 seasons. ZAR signs for 1.25M-1.75M for 2 seasons. You have both of them signing at the highest end of their ranges.
Pens resign Gaudreau for around 1M per for 2 seasons.
They let E-Rod walk. 1.15M is too much for him anyways. He will get league min. again. But not with the Pens. They move on from him.
Seattle takes Zucker in the expansion draft.
And they have enough cap room to sign 1 or 2 RFA’s like C.Perry for 1.25M to be the 3rd line RW. Or Simmons at 2M for 1 season to be the 3rd line RW.
Or Bobby Ryan for 1-2 seasons at 1.5M-2M.
Pens need a tweak or two, not a complete roster rebuild.</div></div>
I only traded Jarry because I’d be over the cap if I traded Desmith

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Quillanrocks</b></div><div>1. Why would Seattle select Niku over other options? Without "incentives?"
2. That should be more than enough for Manson. (overpay, imo) Now, if only Winnipeg wasn't on that darn 12 team no-trade list of his.
3. I think the Jets would be lucky to get one 4th round pick for Beaulieu, not 2.
4. Ekholm's contract is pretty fair value, already. Not sure Nashbill would retain at all . . . even for 1 season.
5. It's usually not too kosher to sign a player only to trade him right away. Not too sure Philly is a fit for Forbort anyhow, especially at the number you have him signed for. Probably twice what he will get, wherever he goes.</div></div>
Honestly, I signed Forbort, and then tried reversing it bc I realized I didn’t need him for my plans.
Niku was picked by Seattle bc he’s a meh defender with a bit of upside, so I just assumed Seattle would pick him tbh, ik there’s other options.
With beauliue, nj is pretty desperate for defensemen, so I thought they might overpay for a guy like him
Ekholm, I made them retain cap bc winnipeg overpayed for him, kv is a solid prospect and a first is pretty solid.
Also, I didn’t know Manson had the peg as one of his no trade team, that’s my bad
