Keep seeing people saying he "quit on the team", but can't say I agree with that. I'm not sure I'd say Bobby Ryan "quit" on the Sens or that Robin Lehner "quit" on the Sabers -- we don't know the details around Drouin's absence yet, so saying he "quit on the team" is probably a bit much.

As for Tampa, saying he "quit on the team" might be harsh, but a reasonable opinion to have; many people felt the same about Dubois this year.

Drouin's value is definitely low right now and I doubt any team touches his contract without some details on his situation first. If he's going to be back and healthy, he's a 26 year old, half-point a game player with elite passing skills but trouble scoring. At 5.5m cap hit, he's a bit overpriced and Seattle might want a pick to take the contract, but not a 1st. Worst case, I think Montreal would have to retain a couple of million on his contract to trade him. Though I expect there would be a good number of teams interested in him and willing to take the full cap hit to give up slightly less in return. We'll probably find out for sure in about a month.

I think if we know he’s coming back next year, it’s probably just a first and a middle prospect - the first is late now so the prospect helps boost the value - but I think 1st + top prospect is a little much. If drouin plays, he’s a good top 6 guy. He had pretty good numbers before the team went to ****.

Drouin did not "quit" on the team he took a leave for personal reasons. So unless you are in the dressing room or are part of the front office I would suggest you stop spreading crap rumors before it makes you look like an idiot.

Unfortunately no. As of yet they haven't released any information about him other than he's been communicating with the team. I don't expect we'll get any information until after the playoffs at the earliest.

No there is no timetable for his return, the team and Drouin are keeping everything really tight lipped which leads for so much speculation its ridiculous tbh.
