Eichel Trade -- If the Avs are serious about aquiring Eichel, they'll need to give up good pieces. 1st Rounder is a prerequisite for the deal. Kadri is the money / roster position piece. The Avs should do all they can to hold onto Newhook, so the forward prospect they give up in Ranta is a good one, but not a grade A. That means the D prospect they give up must be a grade A one, and that's Byram. Buffalo has little to no defensive prospects. At least they have Cozens, Middlestadt, Olofsson, and Reinhart (if they don't deal him of course) up front, so selling the Sabres they need more D prospects might the Avs keep Newhook.
Erik Johnson Stays -- Like it or not, EJ is staying in COL. The organization / players LOVE this guy. Just pray to the hockey gods he can stay healthy.
Seattle Expansion -- Seattle takes Graves. It's probably a coin flip between Graves and Donskoi, so I went with Graves for the sake of this team.
Compher Trade -- After the Eichel trade, Compher becomes a cap casualty. Ottawa gets a player with playoff experience, can play center or wing, and the third-rounder in 2022 is Boston's, so it'll be the lesser pick of the two in that round they have.
Landeskog and Makar Contracts -- Hopefully they take a little less to keep the team in a position to win. If either of them sign for higher money, I'm not in the least bit surprised or angry for that matter, they both deserve big deals.
No Grubauer? -- It sucks to lose him, but he's earned a big contract I don't think they can afford. Francouz proved he's more than capable in 2019-2020 to be given lots of games, but he'll need a 1B type goalie around for help.
Two Year Deals for Jost / Timmins -- Avs will have to pay them more when the time comes, but for now they fill out bottom 6 / bottom pair positions.
Paquette Signing -- He's a roster filler. 4th line center / PK guy.
Bernier Signing -- Mentioned before, they'll need a 1B type goalie if they let Grubi walk. Bernier is perfect for this. He had a .914 s% on the Red Wings last year, so put him behind a real cup contender and he'll be just fine. He and Francouz don't even need to be spectacular, just fine.
Also, Jacob MacDonald as 3LD should be great for them. Great contract for what he did for COL last year.
"Buffalo has little to no defensive prospects." This is insanely false, all they have is D prospects, and Sabres fans have been telling you all for months. Check the game notes, bud. It takes 10 seconds to google a teams prospect pool
Most avs fans seem pretty comfortable losing graves lol. Wouldn’t you wanna keep him, especially after trading Bryam. Maybe try to get Seattle to take johnsson with some incentives added

I only looked at the what they had on this website, and outside of Dahlin and Jokihajru, I don't see many other sure-fire top 4 D for next year. I might be wrong, you would know more about the Sabres D prospects than myself.
Bernier taking a pay cut after playing his nuts off for the Wings seems like a bold strategy for him...
This is if he wants a legitimate shot at 30-35 games and a cup. He's for sure earned himself a good contract and if he takes it somewhere else, good for him.

I would, but like I said, this organization loves EJ.

I mean, it's not like he's not getting his shot as we speak...But yeah, I can't see him taking less than $4.5-5
