Oilers say no easily. They aren't paying you a 1st and a 4th (their first two picks in the draft) to take 10 million in cap off your books.

Agreed Edmonton easily declines so does 31 other nhl teams, teams aren’t taking on 9.75 of Tampa’s cap dumps and giving value in return, plus Palat is a pending UFA so he’s just a rental.

I thought Edmonton was looking for forwards to play in there top 9 next season and here are two that come at a discount because Tampa is in cap trouble, but I suppose if they don't want them we can split them up and trade them elsewhere

I Think edmonton would try to get those players. I do think they try with a 2nd 2022 and a prospect like marody
I dont see holland trading his 1st rounder this year.

He's a top 5 player in the league, but with a team like Calgary it might not be the best move for them. they gotta do something though

I love Hedman, he is an amazing dman but we shouldn't dismantle our dcore like this. Currently on our roster we have Andersson Hanifin Tanev as our gaurenteed dmen. We would need to sign 2 rd in the off-season in this deal as well because we would only have Tanev under contract

Yep, you must be bored if you think Hedman is waiving his NMC for Calgary.
Value wise, the Oiler trade might be OK, but Oilers don't have 10m in cap space to take on those two guys.
I like the thought of Palat and Killorn getting traded, but they do have N MTCs, so the options are limited for Tampa, and what teams can send no cap back to obtain those guys.

The Oilers have approx $23 mill in cap space this off season but I doubt they spend it on those guys.

Even with the adjustments, the oilers still probably say no. Gourde has one year left at 5.3, and Killorn two more at 4.45. Killorn might be interesting, but maybe gets one pick back with Tampa trading from a major disadvantage. the 5.3 on Gourde could be jumped up to 6 mill for a better UFA forward

You do realize Palat had 46 in 55. Put him with McDavid or Draisaitl and he's gonna put up 60 or so on a 5.3 deal. That's not bad

Yes, but that same point is what you tell a Saad to get him to sign for 6, and then retain picks. Tampa isn’t getting rid of either of those guys and their cap hit for value back. They are trading from a position of weakness with that cap issues.

Still don’t think Holland bites on that, Palat is a straight up rental, don’t see him being open to a extension in Edmonton, Holland is looking to add top six wingers with term or under team control RFA’s
Trade would need to be modified more, remove the oilers 2022 second rounder all together, change the oilers 2021 4th to a 2022 3rd and change TBL 2023 4th to a 2022 4th

We can remove Kahun if you want, but Tampa can't trade 2 top 6 players on good contracts with the best asset coming back a 3rd. We don't have a 2nd either of the next 2 years and could definitely use one

The problem is if we trade this yrs 4th that only leaves us with our first and our next pick wouldn’t be till the 6th rd so Edmonton won’t be moving our 4th this yr

The trade nets you 2 3rd picks plus Stalock and Kuhan which would be twice what Vegas got for Nate Schmidt which was a 3rd same situation straight cap dump.
