1. Marner is better than Tkachuk.
2. Tkachuk is owed $9M in actual salary next year and Marner less than $25M over the next 4 years (after July 1st bonus paid)

So if you look at this from an OWNER/GM and not as a fan this is a very probable deal.

People need to remember this is a fantasy board. Sit back enjoy and discuss Post of NO and this sucks add no value to the discussion so keep them to yourself

CBJ would want Morgan Reilly to come with an extension. One which would include a healthy signing bonus paid by TOR prior to the trade.

Need more picks coming to CBJ also. Throw us that 2022 1st. Maybe add Kerfoot…whatever you pay SEA to take him, we’d top it.

So if Leaf fans think Marner is so great why is everyone trying to trade him?

Not everyone When you have such a large fan base your going to have a large population with varied opinions

And again this is a FANTASY board filled with WHAT IF type posts. Its supposed to be fun and encourage dialogue.

NO one can deny what a great hockey player he is. I would say he is the best pure playmaker in the world right now. The only knock on him is he has a slightly high cap hit.

Agreed. I think a lot of GMs in the league would do Marner for Tkachuk too. Tkachuk's cap hit is actually not much better considering hes expiring RFA (aka no UFA years bought). If he expected 7 mil on a bridge deal as a player that has never cracked a point a game, I think Flames fans are in for some disappointment next season when he's asking for 9+ and realize his cap dollar paid per point is higher than Marners

I think you might have gone a little over board by adding Magiapane, but I do agree there should be sweetener from Calgarys end

disclaimer: we are talking hypotheticals

So as a fan of the leafs you are trying to trade the best playmaker in the world for a guy that isn’t, hypothetical or not that makes no sense.

I never said I would make the deal. I said its a possible trade scenario. Tkachuk brings a different side of the game (that the Leaf's are lacking) and is a great player in his own right.

No one is untradeable as many factors come into play. If the Leaf's were to move Marner it would be to free up cap space and yes in the real world they are not moving him
