I actually don't mind it if Vancouver adds a 3rd. We clear out De Haan for a middle round pick, while also making space for one of the younger LDs. Both contracts expire at the end of the season so its a wash in that regard. He could add a little bit of bite on the 4th line or we could just make him sit in the press box the whole season. His performance isnt really a big part of the equation.
