Description
This is my attempt to continue what Jarmo and the Blue Jackets did this trade deadline where I continue to trade away players for picks or prospects. A lot of people might think that Columbus needs to get into the playoffs once again as soon as possible, but I think that because of the great upcoming draft class they should try to tank this year and become a good team again next year. This is why I've shoved so many you talents on this roster into the minors because if Columbus can successfully tank and be the worst team in the league this year, they'll not only guarantee themselves one of Wright, Lambert or Savoie through the draft but they'll also be able to begin next year with a young and fully developped roster. I've also traded all the players on this team that I think had good seasons despite the disappointing one in Columbus because I think once again that it's best for the team If they get as many picks and prospects as possible. You'll notice I added Kent Johnson to this roster because as long as Columbus doesn't jump up in the draft lottery he should in my opinion be the player Columbus drafts so he can make plays with Patrik Laine but I don't think that anyone else they draft will make the NHL team immediatley . One last thing is that I've made sure to leave a lot of cap space so that Columbus can get more prospects and picks through cap dumps and retaining salary on trades.

I struggle to see how they move any big contracts without losing Podkolzin. I guess Columbus should maybe take one more bad contract (Pearson or Virtanen) to get Podkolzin but there is not really much else on this team that could incentivise a team to take bad contracts

While I love Podkolzin if we can move Myers and get Bjorkstrand back I'd do it

This clearly wasn't done by a Blue Jackets fan, because it involves a Bjorkstrand trade.

VAN management does not see Myers as a cap dump, they lack depth on the right side. Eriksson cap hit can just be buried.

Pearson is not a bad contract. Virtanen can be bought out and it wouldn't cause any issues cap wise. VAN management does not see Myers as a cap dump and Eriksson cap hit can be buried.

Jones declines to go to Winnipeg.

He has a 5 team no-trade clause and you think that one of those teams is a team in the second round of the playoffs? If I were a player here would be my no-trade clause: Buffalo, Columbus, Anaheim, Arizona and San Jose because those are the worst and the bleakest futures teams in the league. If I'm Jones, a good team with offensive weapons, a great goalie and the opportunity to be a true #1 D man is easily top ten

That's a very good point. I'm no Jackets fan but I see a good player braving the storm on a mess of a team this year. That's value and I've already had Vancouver fans complaining about losing Podkolzin but as a neutral fan that seems like a win-win for me

Capfriendly says he has a 10 team no-trade list. Yes, I believe Winnipeg would be in that 10 team list.

The ones complaining are homers. If one goes through all the AGM team's almost all the comments are negative, it's because people scroll until they see their team, then make a comment from their bias perspective.

I can't see how VAN wouldn't accept this trade.
