Parise buyout is absolutely brutal, won't happen.

It is but won’t happen is wishful thinking. Very well could happen.

I seriously doubt that Guerin is willing to eat 8 years of dead money on Parise.

< a mil isn’t horrible after the first 4 years. Everything I’m reading is a buyout or trade are really the only 2 options on the table right now. With Parise having a full NMC and his contract makes making a trade hard. This was just to see what it would be like if a buyout happened.

Especially since the 3rd and 4th years savings would be like $200k

Even if the wild have a ton of cap space having that much tied up for Parise for those last 3 years is going to set any team back. Have to ride out at least another season (likely 2) before it become more doable.

Years 5-8 are under $1m. If Guerin did it, it would be to rid himself of a NMC and create a roster spot. It's not ideal, but neither is having a $7.5m healthy scratch.
