Overpay on Suter, sounds like Toews is going to play. I'd be shocked if Borgstrom is the 2C, Dach certainly isn't ready to be a 1C. There's definitely a lot of questions regarding this team. A lot of forwards looking to break out.

There will be a lot of competition for places in the forward lines however although Dach may not be ready for 1C he may be given time there as we develop/re-build. Borgstrom I too would be shocked but hoping for the best. Toews will likely play though what capacity returns is very much the unknown. Suter shouldnt get more than 3m. Kubs got his contract on a 30 goal season after 1 season in the league.

The rakell trade is interesting but would rather use that 1st to get Lindholm if we going to be trade partners with the Ducks.

Why do we have to give Strome for free to make them take the guy thats probably their best option in the first place? and if they don't take dehaan thats fine we have 24 mil in cap space in this post and thats after a suter and zadorov overpays

Rakell, even retained, is not worth a top 12 lottery pick. Besides, Hawks don't need the cap space so retention doesn't matter. Lindholm, he's a different story and fills the biggest need for the Hawks. Top 2 picks protected, I would trade the #12 pick for Lindholm and take our chances that we can convince him to sign an extension during the course of next season.
