Reinhart will be a Canuck

Créé par: Mediumyeet
Équipe: 2021-22 Canucks de Vancouver
Date de création initiale: 12 mai 2021
Publié: 12 mai 2021
Mode - plafond salarial: Basique
Description
If either Beagle or Roussell goes LTIR or are traded then they can sign a better dman. Could also bury both of them in the minors and sign a decent dman.

Can also buyout Holtby or try to find another trade destination like New Jersey if Seattle won't take him.

Point is they can make a Reinhart addition and make the cap still work with most of their current roster.

Im not sure the Canucks will want to trade a lottery pick. I guess we have to see, would be a good upgrade for sure.

I'd honestly give up the pick regardless of where it's at. If it's near the top maybe you can remove Gadjovich or McDonagh from the deal. Ideally for the nucks it'd just be the pick straight up for Reinhart

Doubt it. With Boeser needing a new contract the year after, and Miller, Horvat, and Hoglander a year after, I doubt they will try and get someone like him. I see them going after Erik Haula though for more depth, and faceoff wins.

A top pick is still very valuable in this draft. Buffalo could come out of the draft with Powers and Beniers or Johnston or something. I guarantee GMs still highly value those picks.

They will value a top10 goal scorer higher than a huge question mark pick in a bad draft year.

Maybe if it was a top10 2022 pick...just maybe.

It'd have to be like top5 in 2021 to make them slightly interested.

Benning is on the hot seat if he even makes it to next season. Playoffs are a must if he wants to keep his job and he knows it. I think he will take a swing at Reinhart. Signing a guy like Haula is what he will try to do if he can't land a big name IMO.

Reinhart might be top 10 in goals this year but don't kid yourself. Nobody thinks he is a top 10 goalscorer in the league. Also factor in the fact that he clearly wants out so they have to trade him this offseason or during the regular season.

Most goals he has scored in a season is 25 and most points is 65. Were talking about a really good player here but not an elite player.

Possibly, its just not a good plan in my opinion, as you will have to sign your other good players soon.

That's they type of thing GMs do when they're trying to save their job though. Long term outlook goes out the door. Plus they can always let Miller walk when his contract is up. He's going to be 30 and commanding big money if he keeps his play up for the remainder of his contract.

I guess.... he should be traded then at the deadline in two years. I don’t like it, but oh well.

This draft cant come fast enough. Its not a coincidence that people are very comfortable moving 21 firsts. I hope we dont move anybody until after the draft.

Doesn't matter. He was a top10 scorer in the league in the most dreadful team in ages this year.

I'm not saying he's a top10 scorer league wide, but his performance this year far exceeds some of the elite players, and he should get recognition for that.

Sabres have no reason to move the guy cheap. And they won't. In a draft where there are bound to be several Nail Yakupovs and Griffin Reinharts due to lack of scouting opportunities the stock and value of this year's picks are almost all time low.

IMO a top 7 pick isn't moving someone for cheap. Can't cherry pick and say there's going to be yakupovs and Griffin Reinharts because of lack of scouting and not acknowledge that there can also be Petterssons and Makars. And they're not dealing from a position of strength here. They have an unhappy player without a contract that is going to be a UFA in 1 years time.

I'm giving him recognition. Top 10 picks almost never get moved for a player because they are valued so highly and I said that were talking about a 'very good' player here not an elite. I'd consider guys like Boeser or Nylander in the same category 'very good not elite'.

If all of the Canucks stars wanted to leave and it was looking like we had to start on another full rebuild and Boeser was in the same position as Reinhart you bet I'd highly considering a top 7 pick for him.

Don't get me wrong, during a normal year that's a solid return. But on a very exceptional year in all wrong ways if I were BUF GM I would not risk it. I'd rather trade Reinhart for a prospect that is more proven, because the worst possible scenario for them is to have two picks in the top7 of this draft with both of them failing. Replace that pick with Podkolzin and a roster player and BUF will certainly listen. But I'm quite certain you wouldn't entertain the idea, exactly for the reasons mentioned earlier. It's much easier to just throw in picks that are completely lotto bound.

Also no one in this draft class have shown anything even close to what Pettersson and Makar respectively did during their junior careers.

You could say that the fact that in the U18 tournament just now all top players who were able to compete got absolutely destroyed by prospects one or two years from being draft eligible. And that's saying something about how weak this draft class is relative to others.

Contenders throwing first rounders for depth assets like Savard and Foligno tell exactly how GMs view the picks this year. Very, very risky business at the moment.

To be fair Pettersson played div 2 in Sweden and was undersized with a lot of question marks and Makar played in the AJHL which in itself comes with a lot of question marks.

A lot of the guys in the top rankings didn't play in the U18, Eklund, powers, Beniers, Johnston and I might be missing a couple.

Contenders were trading what will be late 1sts where I agree the draft is a crapshoot but that's not really comparable to inside the top 7.

I wouldn't trade Podkolzin instead because the Canucks need to start winning to avoid a situation similar to Buffalo. I would rather have a guy ready to play than wait a year or two.

I get that there will be other offers out there and a package with a highend prospect could be more enticing but I that doesn't diminish the fact that trading a high pick is a valuable and competitive offer especially if you're adding to it.

Ummm did you look at the cap situation above? They're under the cap and that's with Roussel and Beagle on the roster. Rumours are Beagle might be LTIRetired.

Also Holtby could be bought out if there is no trade partner for him or Seattle doesn't take him which would also be enough to make the cap work.

VAN owner doesn't want to retain or use buyouts. The owner is being cheap don't see him being okay with buyouts.

Eriksson buyout actually saves Aquilini money. Virtanen is definitely going to be either bought out or contract terminated with the legal issues.

Holtby buyout I could see him not being okay with which would force Benning to trade him in expansion or elsewhere by attaching assets.
