I agree with some of your points but Severson needs to go and Subban needs to play on the top line with Smith. they have been playing Subban defensively since he got to NJ and that is a big reason why his production is down so much. When you watch him play you can see he has massive amounts of skill. Putting Subban on the top PP is a must and putting him on the top D line with smith would create a great offensive D line. Severson just sucks all around he is terrible at defense and he isn't that good at offense. If they keep him it should be in a very limited role.

Have you ever watched a Devils game in your life, Jack Hughes has way more talent than Hischier and easily deserves the #1 center spot.

looking at your gm posts I feel bad for you because you actually think Severson is good and you don't see the talent in Subban if you were the gm you would lead the defense into the ground. Playing Subban defensively is the worst possible thing you could do with him.

I cannot see how you don't see how P.K. Subban has 10x more skill than Severson and is just not being played as he should be. If you look at Subban's stats when he was on Nashville and Montreal they were good but he was also getting a top Offensive D role where as in NJ he is being given a defensive defenseman role, which is a big mistake, and you can see the few times they gave him offensive time he capitalized.

How should they play him? Should they tell him to take a half dozen slappers from the point that get blocked and turned around the other way?

They need to play him as a offensive Defenseman, watching him play this year he has been really good at not shooting and getting his shots blocked. He winds up and will pass almost every time someone is in position to block. Severson has been awful I have seen him shoot into a defenders shin pad at the blue line countless times
