Kerfoot has some value for them, but the only reason the Leafs are trying to move him is because they need cap available for Hyman and to fill out their other spots. Engvall is nothing but a cap dump for the Leafs. They'd need to move a pretty good prospect as well, and even then I'm not sure CLB would bite.

With Anderson’s contract coming off the books, that could go to Hymans new contract. Columbus could use a reliable middle six center/winger like Engvall and Kerfoot. Elvis would work in tandem with Campbell on the Leafs.

Elvis is worth more to columbus then some 3rd/4th
line players, he's a starting goalie with lots of up side still there.
The jackets also don't have to protect him during the expansion so there's no reason to just give him away.

It’s not that its off by a prospect. It’s off by the concept of the deal. Kerfoot isn’t the guy the jackets would target.
