How I would fix our Powerplay Issues

Description
It's common knowledge around the league. Our powerplay absolutely SUCKS. It's comically easy to read and ineffective because we keep trying the literal EXACT same thing. Every. Single. Time. (Rielly to Marner on the near side, Marner to Matthews back door.)

First off, we need to stop trying this textbook play. Maholtra is smart, he needs to develop something different than this one play, otherwise our powerplay will continue to suck. Try bring it back old school. Quick passes, shoot from the point looking for tips or rebounds.

Anyway, this is how I'd shake up the PP units, and if it's still stuck in a rut, I'd give someone else the opportunity to run the powerplay for a while.

Fr tho. We have literally one play. Thats it. We need someone in front to get the garbage. Put simmonds/hyman there and then a playmaker behind the goal line. quick passes.

I'm happy to have a princess on my team if that means he leads the league in goals by 7....

You should separate Marner and Rielly. Have 2 PP unit with each one of them their proper quarterback.

They should use Jumbo behind the net. Have Marner run it but tell him to go behind the net at times. Rotate the penalty killers around so they have to turn around. Even if it's just for a second and swing it back to Marner. Keep turning guys around and eventually they lose a guy and a seem can open up.

I mean, we could but we've tried that once before. The result:

Power Play issues...lol..try watching an Islander game sometime, you'll see PP issues. They do a lot of fancy passes with zero shots on net and when they actually do get a shot. It goes 10 feet wide of the net. Most times the opponents defense doesn't even have to move out of position to be effective. That's assuming they even get in to the zone to apply any pressure at all half the time they're turning it over at the blue line.

Tell Manny Malholtra to go have a Kit-Kat, and bring in someone else. They need a new perspective.

Hahaha, I know...Honestly, you're definitely better off with the additions that were made in the offseason than you would have been if you had re-signed him, but there's no arguing that he provides a dynamic offensive presence when he's used properly.

Babs tried to make him into a defensive d like brodie or Savard.

It went as well as trying to fit a square into a circle.
