Kind of screws the team for the expansion draft. Its not worth it for the Leafs to take on a deal with term like Kempe. You not only traded that questionable haul for these guys, you traded a top 4 dman in the draft (or Kempe and if he doesn't have term there's no question this deal isn't worth it).

The Kings would have no top-six capable LWs on their roster. They might have gone for this if they were just entering the rebuild. However, they are exiting the rebuild and are looking to be playoff contenders in the next season or two. This trade would set the rebuild back 3+ years.

I could see them trading one or the other for the right return. No way they trade both.

So you trade a third line centre Kerfoot for a third line winger Kempe. So what is the logic of acquiring Iafello for a first, second, Liljegren and Abramov.
Heck look what the isles paid for Palmeiri and Zajec. A really overpay for not much improvement this season. What is the obsession by so many to give up good players and future assets for so little?
