I think this Pens-Kings trade could be of good use to both teams

Brown helps us out for obvious reasons, Petersson is a solid young D man LA could use and the 2nd Our way evens the value.

Than The minor part is Sceviour for Groesnick, Groesnick actually being somewhat a big pickup for us cuz we will need a backup for DeSmith while Jarry is out with his upper body injury he sustained last night

Riikola trade is simply for salary cap reasons and the lines I’ve created is when we have a healthy lineup again, likely around playoff time

Indont think Kings add the 2nd personally. As of right now Brown is the best player

There are a couple things about this that LA doesn't go for.

1) Top 2 round draft picks are likely not going anywhere.
2) To me, that's overvaluing Pettersson.
3) Sceviour does absolutely nothing for the Kings.
4) Groesnick is actually needed for the Kings. He gives them a goalie to move onto the taxi squad, as well as an experienced veteran for Ontario when the youngsters need a break.

At first I was like huh? Isn’t brown 36 and making 5.85 mill? Then I looked at his stats for the year and was honestly shocked. I don’t hardly watch any kings games, so i just figured brown was aging and not producing nearly as much. I agree with the fact that they likely don’t add the 2nd. Brown is the best player in the trade.

LA has no reason to accept any part of this trade. Sceviour has no value to us and Pettersson is a second-pairing defenseman who wouldn't replace Anderson or Bjornfot now, let alone in the future. Meanwhile, Grosenick is a useful depth goalie for the reasons @PuckLuck_77 lists and former captain Brown has great intangible value as well as his value on the ice; as @Bdawwwgy1 and @tsyls note, he's the most valuable part in this trade (the 2021 draft pick, almost certain to be in the top45, is the second).

Seriously though, guy finds a way to make it work. It’s actually quite incredible. I honestly thought he was just like a 3rd line checking guy at this point. Didn’t realize he was producing at a top 6 level.
