I made standing predictions at the start of the season and most of them were similar to the current standings (except the Central division). These are my final standing predictions at the half-way point of the season for the 2nd half of the season.
Id only make a few changed i like this maybe candians over oilers and sanjose over la and philly over pittsburgh
It was really tough between Philly and Pittsburgh. If Hart can bounce back, I would definitely pick Philly.
Depending on how the deadline goes, I could pick Habs over Oilers
With Carlo out and a lack of depth scoring, I could see them making some moves.
I think they're getting Ekholm, Murray, Virtanen and more at the deadline. Plus they are facing a bunch of injuries so once fully healthy, they will be good
I knew Leafs fans were going to not like that. If they don't upgrade at goaltending, I don't see them staying first
I mean, it's possible that they don't get first, but it's highly unlikely.
As for the goaltending, that can be found within the team. Campbell has played less than 15 games in a leafs uniform. When he's fully healthy the leafs will have a capable goalie.
Isles could end up in third or forth because they has the hardest schedule. Have to play WASH?PHI/PIT at combined 14 more times in mid March through April
Overall, I like it.
There is only one that I disagree with completely.
Toronto over Winnipeg, but Winnipeg is an easy second place.
Eh maybe.... I think Winnipeg, Toronto and Edmonton will be fighting with each other for that top spot. All I’m saying is that, if they want to be on the top spot, they better win against each other.

I don't trust Campbell to be the full starter for the Leafs. Hellebuyck has a big advantage over Campbell.

I don't trust him if you have someone like Hutch backing him up, but in a 1a, 1b situation with Andersen, it fine. But ya, obviously, Winnipeg has the advantage in net, but the leafs have better defense. It will be close but I think the leafs star power of Matthews and Marner and their defense puts them above the jets. Although I really like Schifilie, Dubois, Ehlers, Wheeler, Connor and Statsney. That's one of, if not the best, top 6 in the nhl. It will be close. Really happy to see my 2 favourite teams do so well.

The oilers are not in the same tier as Toronto and Winnipeg. They are a signifigant step behind.

If they get a top 6 winger, that may be a different story.

Depends on the winger. If it's Filip Forberg or Taylor Hall maybe... other than that I don't think getting a top 6 winger would push them over the top. They need to upgrade their bottom 6 because it's trash.

Our bottom 6 has been very decent this year. Yes getting a 3c would be awesome, but they haven’t been the worst. A top 6 winger is what we need to be successful in the playoffs.

I mean, it hasn't been among the worst in the league bad, but a team looking to be first in the league needs a better bottom 6. It doesn't have the goaltending and defense to offset it. They either need a proper starter, or an overhaul of their bottom 6 or an elite top 6 winger. I'm not sure if they will do that, but I could be wrong.

I don’t agree on the bottom 6 statement, but in the end, I will be happy to be in the playoffs! I hope one of Toronto or Winnipeg drop to the fourth spot. Winnipeg is a powerhouse. We have been playing decent against them. They could possibly take out Toronto, and Edmonton would take out Montreal for a Edmonton vs Toronto, or Winnipeg matchup.

Edmonton is, at the end of the day, mostly a 2 man team. If Drais or McDavid it a slump or get injured come playoff time, they aren't going anywhere. I have a hard time seeing them take out the habs, leafs or jets, because all those teams are a lot deeper. But I do think they oilers will make the playoffs. They just aren't very well rounded. The only clear strength they have is McDavid and Drais.

Disagree. If Toronto and Winnipeg beat each other up, and wear each other down, we would have a equal chance. Montreal is definitely not deeper than Edmonton, and that’s a fact! They have yeh better wingers, but the centres, defence, and goaltending is on Edmonton’s side. As for McDavid, and Draisaitl getting injured... of course we would be trash if that happened. Every team would if their two best players got injured. Matthews, Marner got injured they wouldn’t be as good. We are not a two man team, we are actually good.
