Give Lauko a chance

Description
I say might as well give it a go. Lets you trade DeBrusk or Kase and worst case you hold onto them to keep the great depth. I like Ritchie better on the 3rd line. Keep him on the PP tho. Just a different idea to try and get some goal scoring.

As for the trade, I haven't seen Murray play all that much this year. Risky play with his injury history but is an upgrade nonetheless. I think Bjork for Murray is close to fair value as a rental, add the pick for the retention. I could be undervaluing Murray but a injury prone dman for a young bottom 6 forward who has upside and a 2nd seems like a solid offer.

Sounds good from NJD side.
It was rumored last season that the Devils GM really liked Bjork, so would probably make sense.
More realistically, it is probably that player and a 3rd or 4th rounder.

Would like to see him play a complete season in the AHL first. He isn't better than DeBrusk or Kase right now so I don't think it will really change anything.

Lauko needs a full year on the AHL. He missed significant time laat year do to injury.

As for the trade, not a fan. We offered Bjork + 2nd for Palms last year (I'd do that deal still), but pass on Murray. He's not a need, more of a nice to have.

Understandable but wouldn't you rather the Bruins see if they can fix the secondary scoring issue internally before they start looking outside the organization? I'm not saying ride him thru the rest of the year, more so of a test run to see what he's got.

Sure but I don't think the personal is the only issue, that's what I meant by "I don't think it will really change anything".

If we're relying on a 20yr old w/ 9 career goals in 33 AHL games to spark our secondary scoring then we have a bigger problem. Don't get me wrong, Lauko is an exciting young prospects (and my dark horse to make the team out of camp last year) that I think could be a solid middle 6 winger and a 200ft 4th liner that agitates opponents at worst. He needs time though. Look at Studnicka, he spent 1 season in the AHL and while he's looked good, it hasn't translated to the score sheet much.

I think 20 years old is a reasonable time to give the kid a shot. He's shown some flashes in camp, he's had a good start to this season and his AHL G/82 is in the 20s. Obviously in the AHL tht won't exactly carry over into the NHL but give him a line mate like Krejci he could make best of the opportunity. And like you said he's a promising low key prospect for the B's. My point is it doesn't hurt to try it out before the deadline, especially if DeBrusk ends up spending an extended stint on NHL covid protocol.

He's undersized right now and needs to add strength to be able handle NHL level players. Also, DeBrusk is already off the Covid protocol list as of yesterday.
