I don’t understand why want to spend assets instead of just resigning larsson. Really wish that guy got the respect he’s constantly earning and deserving of.

imo alot of people don't realize how mediocre our defense is. Our defence currently matches up quite badly against any contender. Definitely makes a 7 game playoff series much harder than it should be with McD and Drai. Larsson is good, but on the right side, he's the only guy we can upgrade on. Bear and Bouch are staying there for the long haul. Nobody in free agency is an upgrade, besides Hamilton who is unnecessary on our team

With what the Devils have found in the Severson Smith pairing and the level of play that they are getting out of Severson it would take an arm and a leg for them to consider breaking that pairing up and trading him away.

I said in previous one, it would take Yamamoto, Bouchard, pick.

I agree that our defensive aspect is a step behind where it needs to be which is why larsson is incredibly important. I’d pump the breaks on bear if he doesn’t get back into last years form wouldn’t be surprised if he’s moved out in offseason to bring back a veteran defender. This team can’t afford the ups and downs of youth in significant roles. Possibly resign Barrie and move bear for an ekholm and suddenly top four has the experience and more consistency while bottom pair of lagesson bouch. Don’t get me wrong I love bear and would suck to see go but I can certainly see a scenario and reason to look at options
