I feel like that's an undervalued trade for Duchene..

Great trade for the Coyotes to make. They definitely need a goalie, and the Avs want to protect Pickard in the expansion draft. The Duchene trade I don't see though. Columbus doesn't need forwards, since they are one of the highest scoring teams in the league. While Colorado benefits from this trade, the difference that it makes for Columbus is too small for it to go through.

Literally the one area they could use an upgrade at the moment is the #1 center position, they've been looking for a top line center since Johansen was traded. Literally one of their strongest positions right now is defence. They are the team that has let in the least amount of goals in the league. If they don't trade one of their defense, they will lose a very decent dman for nothing in the expansion draft.

This trade makes perfect sense for CLB. The problem is it doesn't quite make enough sense for COL in my opinion.

that fwd group is gawd awful. I think this hurts the Avs already terrible offense that only has duchene, mackinnon, rantanen and landy producing.
This is literally a 1 line team and 3 lines of 3rd liners. Thats why they cant move duchene half heartedly
